Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
In a tragic incident in Jangipur, Murshidabad, a bomb blast has left five children seriously injured. The incident occurred in the fields of Imam Nagar, located north of Farakka, during the morning hours on Monday. The children, aged between 7 to 11 years and all students of a local primary school, mistakenly picked up the bombs, believing them to be balls, and started playing with them, leading to a devastating explosion.
The injured children have been identified as Arian Sheikh (8), Dawood Sheikh (10), Asadul Sheikh (7), Subhan Sheikh (11), and Imran Sheikh (9). They were immediately rushed to Benia Village Primary Health Center, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Asdul, whose injuries were more severe, has been referred to Jangipur Sub District Hospital for further medical attention.
Local villagers expressed shock and fear following the incident, emphasizing the presence of bombs scattered throughout the area. The origins of the bombs and the motives behind their placement are currently under investigation, but no arrests have been made thus far.
The incident has caused a significant uproar in Imamnagar of Farakka, Murshidabad. According to witnesses, several children were playing in a mango orchard when they discovered what they thought was a ball. Tragically, it turned out to be a bomb, resulting in the explosion and subsequent injuries.
Upon receiving information about the incident, Debabrata Chakraborty, the officer in charge of Farakka police station, along with a large police contingent, promptly arrived at the scene. The injured children were swiftly transported to Beniagram Primary Health Center for medical treatment.
